PRESS RELEASE

Encore Health Resources Names Tom Niehaus President and COO

January 12, 2012

HOUSTON - Thomas J. Niehaus is Encore Health Resources’ new President and Chief Operating Officer, the company’s Chief Executive Officer, Dana Sellers, announced today.  Niehaus steps into this leadership role from his prior position as Executive Vice President for Client Services, which he assumed when he joined Encore last spring.

Encore is a leader in advanced information technology solutions for the global healthcare industry whose achievements and contributions twice earned recognition in 2011 from the KLAS® Institute.  On December 15th, the Institute awarded Encore a prestigious Best in KLAS Award for excellence in Information Technology Planning and Assessment in a first place tie for the category. The 2011 Best in KLAS Awards: Software & Services report ranked the best-performing Healthcare Information Technology (HIT) services vendors based on more than 17,000 interviews conducted over the year with healthcare providers.

In his new role, Niehaus will work to sustain and accelerate Encore’s rapid growth and competitive leadership in a healthcare advisory services segment that has never known greater demand.  With responsibility for directing Encore’s nationwide sales, marketing, operations, implementation, and advisory services teams, Niehaus will leverage Encore’s deep experience in business intelligence and analytics to help clients find new ways to navigate through and beyond today’s complex landscape of healthcare reform.

“Tom’s proven talents as a leader, his astute industry insights, and his exceptional contributions to our company’s success have earned the solid confidence of our entire management team,” said Sellers.  “As President and COO, Tom will focus his considerable skills on our company’s operations side, bringing our expanding suite of solutions and services to a broader client base across the continuum of care.  As CEO, I will continue to lead Encore by enriching our customer relationships, answering their needs with the delivery of differentiated, highest quality, and 100% referenceable solutions that meet both near- and long-term challenges.”

Niehaus has brought Encore more than 20 years of executive experience in HIT, sales, marketing, and strategic planning.  His credentials include serving as President of CTG Healthcare Solutions (CTGHS), which he first joined in 1999 as managing director. CTGHS was a new division created when CTG acquired Elumen Solutions, which Niehaus had earlier co-founded under the name Exemplar Systems.  In 2003, he was named President of the division.  Before his work at Exemplar, he served for nine years at IBAX Healthcare Systems – now part of McKesson – where he was national manager of that firm’s Technical Services organization.

“I could not be more pleased to be working with Encore’s tremendously talented delivery teams, who have generated such remarkable growth and outstanding achievements in the three years since our company’s founding,” said Niehaus. “Going forward, we’ll leverage those talents to accelerate our growth in a dynamically transforming industry in which healthcare reform has signaled the end of business as usual – and where our clients will need our services more than ever to meet complex, frequently underestimated challenges.”

Since its founding in January 2009, Encore Health Resources has achieved remarkable growth.  It has expanded its employee base nearly 200% in 2010 and another 95% in 2011; it increased its revenues by more than 400% between 2009 and 2010 and another 115% over the course of 2011.  For two years running, Encore has earned recognition as one of the Top 100 Best Places to Work in Healthcare by Modern Healthcare Magazine.  In addition to the recent Best in KLAS Award, KLAS® Research in July named Encore one of the top two best overall health information technology advisory services companies in the nation.  -- as well as a new partnership with the Premier healthcare alliance to help health systems define the technology requirements, priorities and resources necessary as they move toward clinically integrated, coordinated care delivery. In late November, the Houston Business Journal named Encore as a Fast Tech 50 finalist -- an award recognizing Houston’s fastest-growing, high-tech businesses – and as one of just three firms awarded its Enterprise Champions award.  The award is conferred on companies that stand out in areas of community service, innovation, corporate culture and overcoming challenges.
