Chairman

With nearly 30 years of experience in the healthcare industry and in IT, Joe Boyd has been actively engaged with Encore in a senior advisory capacity since the Company’s inception and previously served as a senior advisor to Healthlink.  He began his IT career with Electronic Data Systems (EDS) in the State and Local Government Healthcare Group.  After leaving EDS, he worked in the healthcare practices of KPMG Peat Marwick and GTE before joining Perot Systems in 1990.  Since retiring from Perot Systems in 2001 he has maintained an active profile in the industry providing management consulting and executive coaching services through his own firm, Boyd Consulting. 

CEO

Dana Sellers is the CEO of Encore Health Resources, one of the fastest-growing consulting firms in the Healthcare IT industry, and one of Modern Healthcare’s “Best Places to Work in Healthcare” two years in a row.  Dana has more than 25 years’ experience in healthcare, technology, and consulting.  She works with healthcare providers across the U.S., helping them bring about positive change through improved processes, enabling technology, and the insights that come from business intelligence and health analytics.

Founder

Ivo Nelson, a 28 year veteran in the healthcare industry, is the founder of Encore Health Resources, and the Chief Executive Officer of startup investment advisory firm, Encore Connect.  Ivo’s many accomplishments include building some of the largest outsourcing and consulting firms in the healthcare IT industry, as well as developing global business in Asia Pacific, Europe, and the Middle East.  This broad global experience gives Ivo a deep understanding of each unique market and an appreciation for the common threads of healthcare solutions and skills across the world. 

President and COO

Tom has more than 20 years of executive experience in HIT, sales and marketing, and strategic planning. Prior to joining Encore in 2011, he began at CTG in 1999 as managing director of CTGHS, a new division created when CTG acquired Elumen Solutions, a company which Mr. Niehaus originally co-founded under the name Exemplar Systems. He was named president of CTGHS in 2003. Before his work at Exemplar, he served for nine years at IBAX Healthcare Systems – now part of McKesson – where he was national manager of that firm’s Technical Services organization.

Chief Administrative Officer & Executive VP of Finance and Administration

Roger D. Huseman, CPA, has over 30 years of financial and senior management experience.  His background includes extensive experience in both public and private capitalization work, SEC reporting and investor relations.  He has completed 4 SEC registrations, including an IPO, 7 M&A transitions and multiple private placements.  He has managed financial operations for companies with excess of $300M in annual revenue as well as several very fast growth companies.

Practice Executive, Strategy & Advisory

Karen Knecht has over 28 years of healthcare operations and healthcare technology experience.  She has provided consulting services for provider healthcare organizations, assisting them in the planning and implementation of advanced clinical computing technologies to improve the quality and costs of care.  Her particular focus is on how clinical computing technologies can deliver healthcare providers the critical information required to provide a safer, more effective patient care environment.

Practice Executive, System Deployment & Optimization

Dan has over 16 years of experience in healthcare IT consulting, the majority of which has been dedicated to project management of clinical information system implementations.  His most recent experience has been with CPOE, Clinical Documentation, and Perioperative system projects.  Dan’s background also includes the redesign of healthcare operations to reduce costs and streamline workflows.  In addition to his IT consulting experience, Dan has in-depth knowledge of procurement and contract negotiations, gained through 15 years of healthcare operations experience with a variety of healthcare facilities.

Chief Medical Officer

Dr. Binderman has over 25 years of experience in patient care, healthcare operations, and information technology.  Her career experience covers clinical content management, order set development, CPOE implementation, closed-loop medication management, and clinical documentation.  Dr. Binderman brings her expertise in change management, operational and cultural transformation, clinical process workflow and redesign, ambulatory workflow and medical records planning to Encore client engagements.  Dr. Binderman trained at Cornell University, Texas A&M University, Louisiana State University, and Arizona State University.

Partner, Corporate Planning

N. Clair Detraz serves as Partner, Corporate Planning for Encore. She has extensive experience in strategic and operational planning, marketing and communications, implementation, and, as a former CIO, the management of all aspects of information systems in an academic medical center.

Partner, Client Services East

Steve has over 18 years experience in healthcare with a record of achievement in quality service delivery and project leadership with extensive experience in physician alliance management, healthcare operations, P&L management, account management, strategic planning, and project governance. Steve is a decisive, results driven leader with a demonstrated track record of delivering multimillion dollar consulting and software engagements on time and within budget, while maintaining 100% client satisfaction.
