Jim Austin

Jim Austin is the Chief Financial Officer of Encore Health Resources.

A Certified Public Accountant, Jim brings over 30 years of financial services and healthcare executive experience to Encore.  His extensive experience includes ten years with Big 4 accounting firms, growing a start-up consulting company and serving as a healthcare business development executive for a Fortune 15 company.   Jim has served as Chief Financial Officer for organizations with annual operating budgets ranging from $16 - $60 million.

He also has significant consulting experience including managing the development of the strategic plan for the integration of medical information for the International Space Station to his most recent engagement prior to Encore as the interim Project Management Office director and the CIO's Director of Special Projects at the University of Texas Southwestern (UT Southwestern).  Prior to his engagement at UT Southwestern, Jim served as the Regional Director of Business Development for IBM's Healthcare Consulting Business where he managed an annual a team of sales executives with an annual signings target of $16 million. Before joining IBM, he was an executive at Healthlink Incorporated (Healthlink).  IBM acquired Healthlink in June 2005.  Prior to Healthlink, Jim served at corporations such as Perot Systems, Arthur Anderson and Price Waterhouse.

Jim gives back to the community he lives in by doing mission work at state correctional facilities.  He and his family call The Woodlands, Texas, home.
